Smelly Bowel Movement
What is a Smelly Bowel Movement?
Perhaps the question is really, “what bowel movement ISN’T smelly?” Poop, much like farts, butt holes, outhouses, and used toilet paper, simply doesn’t smell good. Popular myth implies that some people’s poop smells like roses, but fact does not support this overly optimistic belief. If a bowel movement doesn’t smell, maybe its because your nose is plugged.
Cause of Smelly Bowel Movements
The single greatest cause of smell within bowel movements is poop. Farts are a second contributing cause. Rotten food, devoid of essential nutrients, having been stored next to your anus for perhaps several hours or days, simply doesn’t smell good.
Somewhat more seriously, differences in the smell of bowel movements are attributable to diet, illness, and stress. Just as mothers can tell the health of their infant by what the child passed, an analyst can tell the state of an adult based on the composition and stink factor of their bowel movements.
Cure for Smelly Bowel Movements
The most effective cures for smelly or stinky bowel movements are:
- bathroom fan
- acceptance of your partner’s humanity
- a nose plug
- an open window
- an analysis of any recent dietary oddities, followed by a commitment to avoid these items before important events in the future
- a match or candle
If exceptionally smelly bowel movements persist for unknown reasons, especially with any additional health symptoms, it is important to consult with a health professional.
