Stringy Bowel Movement
What is a Stringy Bowel Movement?
A stringy bowel movement is long, extremely thin, and often wraps around the toilet bowl like a big pile of string. Stringy bowel movements are often soft in texture, able to fit through the smallest of holes on the way out.
Cause of Stringy Bowel Movements
Stress, diet, and illness can cause bowel movements that are softer than normal. Having a small hole to squeeze out of can be the result of stress, muscle tension, or odd intentional anus control.
Cure for Stringy Bowel Movements
Reducing muscle tension in the rectal region, increasing the solidity of the feces, and/or reducing the illness which is causing a temporary bought of stringy bowel movements is the best way to return extremely skinny bowel movements to a more normal shape and size. Having string-like poop is not a major problem, but it is more normal to have larger log-shaped fecal output.
